I have an MFA in Theatre from the University of Victoria. And for my screenwriting career I have a Hollywood literary agent. Since my graduation in 1982 I have been involved with over 75 plays and movies.
I love Victoria and want to make it even better by building up a professional summer theatre festival. It has been tried before in parks and the Inner Harbour. The previous attempts failed due to three main reasons:
1. Location Vista – The shows did not have great locations of evocative beauty.
2. Ease of Access – The shows did not make it easy to get to at all. And the parking was bad.
3. Advertising – The other companies did not spend enough to promote their shows.
Holland Point Park is easily accessible by foot, bike, taxi, bus, and car. The view is spectacular. We are dedicating $20,000 to production and $30,000 to advertising and promotion.
Our new organization wants to bring the magic of Shakespeare to this city by the sea!
