My name is Chris, I am currently working on an idea which is a business model of sorts. It’s called Woeigo, which is an acronym for what on earth is going on, its a web application/media which aims to answer this question.
When you want to do good: Volunteer, donate, spread awareness, or just offer support… It’s all over the place, and often, there are people competing to do the same good that everyone benefits from equally. Its the reason that even though Canadians donate $10.6B per year, the benefits are minuscule.
With that amount alone, Canada could take down the worlds biggest problems 1 at a time, year over year, and in doing so, be a world leader, and inspire a generation.
By putting all NFP/CSR/Good Efforts into one place, we allow people to split up the workload to maximize effectiveness and help people do good. Easily, simply, and transparently.
I have been trying to get this going for over a year, money really really helps. A lot. Especially as I am a student. People have gotten involved from time to time to help out, but really, since I cant pay them yet, it’s really going slow and painful. Some exposure and cash could possibly turn this hobby/idea into a real business.
