I’m imagining a site for saving up and raising funds to travel; kind of a travel registry.
Friends and family can donate money or airmiles to the traveller and track their saving progress. Also, someone could calculate a certain portion of the trip and sponsor that amount. For example, an aunt or uncle who had an amazing time in France could add this to their neice or nephews trip by calculating the cost and donating that amount.
This would be great for students saving up for a grad trip, school trip travel, couples working on a honeymoon fund, or anyone who would most prefer to receive travel as a gift.
The site could also have a social media element or travel blog element to it – so that people who donated to the trip could follow the travellers adventure.
The amount of the savings could be disbursed as a credit card product right before the trip.
