A new approach to journalism

Journalism is at a crossroads. More than ever, people are tuning out television and shunning written rags. People still want to be informed, but the methods need to evolve. I intend to launch a platform that will feature new and innovative ways to tell a story. It will be a place where traditional journalism techniques intersect with graphic design and animation. I’ve been a journalist for more than 10 years. Now, I’m in school to learn the technical skills to make this work. That, unfortunately, comes at a big cost. If I win, I’d set aside the funds to pay off my student loans once I graduate. That would help expedite the launch of something that’s both a passion project and a contribution to Canadian democracy.
