Mr. Quinley’s Adventures

We would enhance children’s lives through storytelling by creating stories you can feel, in letters you can hold. With the growth of technology, tech is no longer just a tool – it’s also a toy. Easy access to smart phones, iPads, computers, etcetera, make technology and technology-based gadgets a standard household item. As a result, 1 in 4 kids spend over 3 hours a day looking at digital screens. Unfortunately, too much time looking at screens can negatively impact their social and physical development. We provide a fun and engaging offline alternative to help children unplug from technology and engage with family, friends, and the world in a more meaningful way… through stories! We create short stories for children – but not just any type of short stories. Our stories are written as letters, personalized to each child, and mailed to their doorstep – old school style! Mr. Quinley’s Weird, Wonderful, and (Sometimes) Slightly Odd Adventures follow the adventures of Annabelle Button and her Uncle Mr. Quinley over the course of a year as they save the world from disaster using problem solving, magic, and friendship. Our stories combine world history with mythology to introduce children to foreign countries and fabled histories. Adding in a dash of magic allows children to see the world not only as it is but as it could be. We want to help foster creativity, enhance curiosity, and create connection for children because we believe this is where their inspiration, passion, and ambition for the future begins. The money from Awesome Shit Club would aid our efforts and activities to make this idea a reality. We could work with more writers and artists to bring Annabelle and Mr. Quinley’s adventures to life, or reach out to more communities to share stories with children’s groups, or donate more letters to charities and care facilities. Any funding would positively benefit every aspect of our idea: to enhance children’s lives through storytelling by creating stories you can feel, in letters you can hold. Thank you!
