Your Awesome Shit:
The StarSeed Collective is an intentional community focused on reawakening strong vibrant communities and the deep connections many of us have forgotten with the Earth and Universe.  It is to ignite and re-seed the star in everyone by providing tools for community and earth re-empowerment .
We envision an environment for the collective as a sacred space for creation and activation.  It is an intentional space created to gather the people in a time of environmental, social, and economic evolution.   This space is to create independence from the capitalistic system and regain essential life skills such as; growing food, building sustainable housing and reconnecting with supportive community.  The collective is open for everyone, including YOU, our vision is open to growth to meet our ever-changing environment and community needs.
The gardens and collective will have founding permaculture principles which embrace the inevitable diversity found within community and ecosystems.
Some other intentions we would like to create using this community and space, but are limited to, are listed in the following;
– LOVE,
–  Growing food,
– Sharing food awareness and knowledge,
– Sharing information on herbalism and wildcrafting,
– Art,
– Music,
– Spiritual exploration and practice,
– Massage and body work,
– Stretching and forms of yoga,
– Healing,
– Growth,
– Celebration,
– Dream councils,
– Gatherings,
– Workshops,
– Water blessings and activation.
Your Bio:
Hi there, my name is Chloe Dubois, I am a very driven and passionate person, focusing right now on food and education accessibility.  I am always looking to manifest and create interesting projects that help better the environment and our communities.   One of my more recent projects has been Sprout Victoria, which is now a LifeCycles project called The Urban Agriculture Hub.  This Hub acts as a meeting place for all those interested in urban agriculture to come together and mentor each in growing food as well as reclaiming the city’s green spaces.   Check it out www.urbanagricultruehub.ca, this is awesome shit too!
I am a recent environmental science graduate from the University of Waterloo and have a fascination with soil….yaya I am geek but think about how cool it is.  Over the last couple of years I have been exposing myself to very different communities and forms of agriculture to get a sense of the diversity that exists on this beautiful planet.  I have spent much of my energy talking, singing, learning, and sharing ideas on alternative living and how to create successful community.  I feel like now is the time for action.  There is a strong movement happening right now as many communities like these are growing and food awareness is becoming more common.  This collective has/ will inspire so many of us to create and support each other as well reconnect with the planet.    I am so happy to be one piece of this puzzle.
Anything else you think we should know
A friend and I just bought a geodesic dome to initiate the first gatherings of the collective.  The plan is to buy some land and start building more domes and earth homes.  As of now we are using land offered to us by a friend on Gabriola Island.  This is a big step for the collective as the energy we have put into talking about living alternatively is becoming a reality!
These are exciting times we are living in, where resourcing our food and our approach to housing are imperative.  We are applying for this beautiful grant to gain the opportunity to connect with more lovely people and gain a bit of economic capital.  In return we can offer you this space through workshops and a warm welcoming community.
The money will be used to buy seeds, starters, some building materials (most materials will be recycled) and pay some people for workshops.
I deeply thank you all!!   Chloe
