I’m currently a Vancouver resident with a full time job and a part time dream project. I design and create handmade leather goods (check them out at www.loperandhaas.com) and would love to branch out into shoemaking! As it turns out, making shoes is one of the few things you can’t fully learn on youtube. There is a 5 day intensive course offered in mid-March, July, and September in Port Townsend (Washington). It would teach me not only the process of making a pair of shoes from start to finish, but also how to custom fit them to a specific foot. The course is $2300, and I need to invest in a few new pieces of equipment as well. Some extra cash would definitely help move things along a bit quicker, as Vancouver is a crazy expensive city to be attempting to save up for anything! Thank you for considering my entry!
