Once upon a time, there lived a pirate crew
oh the terrible, horrible, naughty things those nasty pirates did do!
they dranked and they spanked and they janked and they danked
and said lots of swear words too
A terrible storm came in out of the blue
and split their pirate ship right in two!
According to folklore
They all made it to shore
on a favour from Chulthu, it’s true!
They did not sleep for sixty-five days
and they traveled the land in myriad ways
they hitchhiked by wagon, by horse, by dragon,
by valkrie, by plane, by train, and by van
til the sixty-sixth day, a cursed caravan
Cowboys, gypsies,carnies, came by
and met the pirates with a rallying cry
JOIN US, they shouted, travel with me,
you and I will make we; we’ll sing songs of the sea
and the Roadkill Roadshow is what we shall be
So they all sailed together
in black studded leather
they were hailed far and wide
they told tales, they sold hides
and were crew in fair and foul weather
Roadkill RoADSHOW, that’s who we be.

What this limerick does not tell you is that we are an ad hoc collective of musicians and visual artists who are crafting a participatory and immersive live performance called “Roadkill Roadshow – A Whiskey- Fuelled Musical Theatre Nightmare” with all original music, costume, stage design, audience participation, and themed workshops to be held after the performance.
Another thing the limerick does not say is that we are using all recycled and free materials, but the one thing we can’t yet figure out how to pay for are body microphones for the live performance.
