Your Awesome Shit:

If I win this contest, I will split the earning in half and do two things with it. I would like to donate the first half to Junior Achievement British Columbia. JABC is a wonderful non-profit organization that’s soul purpose is to promote and teach business education to the youth. I am entirely in debt to JABC for everything I have learned from them, so I love to give back, through the regular volunteer hours I put in for the organization, and if I win, a donation.

The second half of earnings I will save then put towards my business I would like start this summer. I want to open up a vendor cart that sells shaved ice, a Hawaiian form of snow cones. This is an idea I am very passionate about, and I believe that I am able to make a very successful business over the summer. The earnings from the contest would help me purchase the miscellaneous merchandise I would need to add the final touches to my business, like company t-shirts and printable advertisements.

Your Bio:

I am a Spring 2011 Mount Douglas Secondary graduate and currently a first year student at the University of Victoria. I am extremely goal orientated and very passionate about business. I have an amazing connection with Junior Achievement British Columbia and have volunteered multiple times through them. I also won a scholarship to attend an international business conference at Queen’s University for a week in August 2011. I have had multiple entrepreneurial experiences ranging from my own clothing company, to a classroom run business that created the Mount Douglas Secondary school clothing line, which grossed $26,000 in sales over a two-week period. Business is the reason for my motivation and I am truly thankful for the opportunities that have been presented to me. I am open minded and positive, and I love to give back to my community when and where I can.
